Kellogg's Eggo Bake Shop Twists

We Go through a lot of Eggos in my house. A lot. Joseph loves Eggo waffles for breakfast and he eats them almost every morning. Recently we have added something new to our breakfast routine around here. We have become big fans of Kellogg's Eggo Bake Shop Twists in both apple and strawberry flavors.

You might not have heard of Bake Shop Twists, they are a new product. They are frozen and you heat them up in your microwave. It only takes 25 seconds and you have a nice hot breakfast snack. They sort of look like cereal bars but they taste better than any cereal bar I've ever had. Joseph likes to eat them in the car on the way to school. That works for me because they're more on-the-go friendly than most other breakfast foods. We will certainly buy these again. They're great for both kids (mine both prefer the strawberry flavor) and adults (I like the apple better).

Listerine Total Care

When I hear the word "Listerine" I think of my grandpa's house where there was always a big bottle of Listerine on the bathroom counter. One time when I was kid I took a tiny little taste just to see what it was like. I spit it out right away! Back in those days Listerine was pretty intense. Let's just say you could feel it working. That one experience with Listerine was enough to keep me away from it for a while.

When I was asked by the good folks at Mom Central to review Listerine Total Care Anticavity Fluoride Mouthwash I was a little sceptical. And scared. I haven't forgotten what that sip of Listerine was like when I was a kid. I like to live on the edge though so I said they could send me a bottle.

Imagine my surprise when what showed up to my house was a bottle of pretty purple mouthwash. Clearly this was not my grandpa's Listerine! And it does more than just look nice sitting on your bathroom counter. There are six benefits of Listerine Total Care and they are:

Johnson's No More Tears 50th Anniversary

Did you know Johnson's No More Tears has been around for 50 years? I didn't either until I was asked by the good folks at Mom Central to review two Johnson's No More Tears products and to pass the word along about Johnson's 50th anniversary.

The first product I got was Johnson's Baby Bubble Bath & Wash. I have to admit, I like this stuff for Elle because it's nice and gentle on her sensitive skin but I also love it for me. The scent is light and soft whether I use it on Elle or myself we both end up with soft skin. I know it has "baby" in the name but this stuff is nice for anyone. The second product I got was Johnson's Head to Toe Foaming Wash. Elle loved this product. I put a little of the foam in her hands and she loves using it to wash up. This product also has a nice light scent and I have to confess that I've used it myself a time or two. Or ten.

Special K crackers

I was recently sent two boxes of Special K crackers to taste and give my opinion on. Asking me to give my opinion is like asking me to breath. Thanks for asking and all but chances are I'm already doing it anyway. Not that I'm complaining because I got free crackers. So, on with the show.

First up are Special K Snack Crackers in Italian Tomato and Herb. I really liked these crackers. I thought they were hearty and crunchy tasted like tomato soup. Because I can't leave well enough alone I used them with a cream cheese pesto dip and they were delicious. With only 90 calories per serving these would be a good thing to pack in your husband's lunch instead of his usual bag of Cheetos. Not that my husband eats Cheetos every day. Except for how he does.

Next up are Special K Multi Grain Snack Crackers. These crackers have only 90 calories per serving as well. Unless you eat them with a creamy cheddar dip like I did. Although I guess even the the crackers themselves still have only 90 calories per serving. My whole family liked these, even the picky boy child.

In conclusion, Special K snack crackers are good if someone sends them to you for free. They're also pretty good if you pay for them too as evidenced by the fact that my husband bought a box last night. Could the Cheetos affair be ending?

Scrubbing Bubbles Action Scrubbers

I hate to clean. I make no secret of that. Since we're in the process of trying to sell our house though, I recently had to suck it up and get this joint in order. The big pre-showing clean up seemed to be as good a time as any to try out the Scrubbing Bubbles Action Scrubber sample that I was recently sent.

In out house we try to practice the three R's as much as possible. We reduce, recycle and reuse because we think it's important as I imagine most people do. I sometimes wonder though about all the little things we throw away without even thinking about it. All those little things can add up and have a big impact. Kellog's Frosted Flakes Gold

I am a cold cereal junkie. Before I started eating oatmeal every single fricken day for breakfast I would have cold cereal most mornings. Nowadays it's not unusual for me to have a bowl of cereal for lunch or for a night time snack.

When I was in the hospital for a week with a collapsed lung (I am the only person in history of the world to get a collapsed lung while sitting on couch and watching TV) I would get a menu every day so that I could pick what I wanted for each meal. Every single morning I picked Frosted Flakes for breakfast. I don't know why exactly but I just loved opening that little box of cereal every morning. I think it might have been because as a kid we were never allowed to get the variety packs of cereal at the grocery store because they're such a big waste of money. Now, for me, little boxes of cereal = extreme luxury.

If you're a Frosted Flakes fan like I am then you might want to consider trying Frosted Flakes Gold. I think Frosted Flakes Gold are a little bit sweeter than regular Frosted Flakes. It's a honey sweetness though so it's not sickeningly sweet like so many other sugary cold cereals are. Frosted Flakes Gold score pretty well nutritionally too. A serving has only 1/2 gram of fat and 110 calories. It's also got a quarter of your daily recommended amount of several vitamins including iron and folic acid. Each serving has 3 grams of fiber. That's not terrible but it's not great either. Eating oatmeal with flax seed added to it has made me biased about fiber content. I'm a fiber snob.

One final note, I would probably not give this cereal to my kids. I don't let them eat any cereal that has sugar in the first three ingredients. Hey, they're my kids and I an impose arbitrary rules on them it I want to. Kellogg's Frosted Flakes Gold lists sugar as the second ingredient. Eek. To be fair though this is the case with most cereals. It's hard to find many that don't have a high sugar content. That's why my kids have toast most mornings. Well, that and I'm lazy.
